Novak Djokovic and Matteo Berrettini will compete in the historic 2021 Wimbledon finals

History is about to be made once again, but this time at Wimbledon 2021. Novak Djokovic is set to win his 20thgrand slam title, tying Roger Federer’s and Rafael Nadal’s all time record of 20 grand slam titles each.

Furthermore, we cannot forget about Matteo Berrettini who currently has 0 grand slam titles. If he is able to break Novak’s 21 match grand slam win streak, then he will become the first Italian to win the Wimbledon grand slam and ultimately his first grand slam title.

How did Novak Djokovic perform in the semi-finals?

Novak Djokovic, world number 1, defeated Denis Shapovalov, world number 10. Shapovalov put up a tough fight, making Djokovic work hard for the win.

The final score was 77-63, 7-5, 7-5.

How did Matteo Berrettini perform in the semi-finals?

Clearly, Berrettini outperformed Hubert Hurkacz. Matteo was able to secure 22 points by serving 22 aces. In total, he won 127 points to Hurkacz’s 97 points.

The final score was 6-3, 6-0, 63– 77, 6-4.

On Sunday, the world number 1 will face the world number 7. Regardless of the outcome history will be made.

Even though Djokovic may be the favourite, don’t count out Berrettini just yet. He has proven that he is a tough competitor, therefore, we know that the finals match will live up to the Wimbledon standard.
