Day 3 at Wimbledon 2021 saw the likes of Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Venus Williams playing to advance to round 3.
Novak Djokovic on track to win 3rd Grand Slam of 2021
Novak Djokovic outperformed Kevin Anderson to win round 2 in straight sets. The score was 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.
Djokovic who wants to take home all 4 Grand Slam titles in the 2021 season is in a good position mentally and physically to achieve that goal.
He has now advanced to the 3rdround of Wimbledon.
Tiafoe moves on to Round 3
Frances Tiafoe who knocked Stefanos Tsitsipas out of the competition in straight sets, won his second round match against the Canadian, Vasek Pospisil. The score was 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
Andy Murray advances to Round 3
Andy Murray has also advanced to round 3. His return to the sport showcases his discipline. It was a tough match. He won the first set 6-3. However, the 2nd and 3rd sets fell to the German, Oscar Otte.
Nevertheless, Murray was able to regain his confidence, managing to pull off a 6-4 and 6-2 win of the 4thand 5thset respectively.
Venus Williams knocked out of Wimbledon
The sister of Serena Williams, Venus, is now out of Wimbledon. She lost to Ons Jabeur. The most significant feature of the match was that she was not able to finish with any games in the second set.
The score was 7-5, 6-0.
